TUNWASE SCHOOLS
Tunwase Schools is situated at 22,Akinola Cole Crescent, off Adeniyi Jones Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos State. The primary section, Tunwase School was established in 1972 by the renowned veteran late educationist, Mr. A.O. Sanni. The School has played a major role in the educational development of Lagos State and Nigeria. It has since its establishment turned out pupils who are making marks in the professions, in commerce and industry and in the public sector of the economy, having built on the solid foundation set at Tunwase.
Building on the legacy of the late proprietor the Board of Governors established the Secondary section, Tunwase High School, Ikeja in the year 2012. THS as its fondly called has since then continue to wax stronger in the industry. Our external examinations (WAEC, NECO, JAMB, BECE etc) and our students participation in educational competition both state and interstate speaks a lot about our achievements.
A combination of academic excellence, moral and leadership training- by example plus the dedication of the teaching and non-teaching staff has placed Tunwase and its products ahead of its competitors. Tunwase Schools is a leading practioner of the Montessori Method of teaching which places emphasis on a child cultivating his/her own natural desire to learn.
The Board of Governors
The two schools are run by a Board of Governor under the Chairmanship of Dr. A.O. SANNI, a medical practitioner, consultant surgeon and Traumatologist, Director of studies is Mrs. T.F. Kunle Agboluaje, Home Economist, educational administrator and a retired Senior Inspector of Education ( Home Economics) in the Lagos State Ministry of Education. Other Board Members include Dr. (Mrs) Anu Jonah, also a medical Practitioner, Alhaji A.M. Olubajo, an educationist and Dr. O.A. Okutade, Principal, Tunwase High School and Secretary to the Board
The Board, like others of its description, is responsible for laying down the governing policies of the institutions, which policies are to be implemented by the Management
At the apex of management is the Director of the institution in the person of Mrs. T.F Kunle-Agboluaje who brings to the institutions, over three decades of professional experience (Post-NYSC) which spans classroom teaching (Ilupeju College, Ilupeju, Lagos 1983 – 1985, 1986-1990), Schools, Inspector (as Inspector and senior Inspector of Education Lagos State Ministry of Education (1990-1994) and schools’ administration (1994 to date).
Directly in charge of day-to-day overseeing of the High School is the Principal, Dr. Dare Okutade a graduate of the University of Ibadan, (B.Sc Bio.Chemistry 1985, PGDE 1990 and Ph.D Theology (2006). He is ably assisted by a team of long-serving, dedicated and highly committed teaching and support staff.

The School has taken part over the years in several invitational competitive activities in which it has made its mark winning laurels and certificates.
So also it has participated in so many quizzes and debate programmes with several other schools within the State, in which her pupils have excelled.
Products of our primary schools have been admitted and are still being admitted to public and private secondary schools where the banners of Tunwase School have been held high.
The high school has produced students who have participated in and won several spelling bee competitions at local and state levels.
The management intends to grow the school to produce academically sound, morally upright and skillful students that would make their mark in the continent. This we hope to achieve through hi-technology
In addition, plans are in progress in future to prepare our secondary school students for the following examinations:
